Each winter season brings a common family tradition, the hanging of the Christmas lights. It is a festive time to be enjoyed. Many may take a moment from the business of gift shopping and drive around the neighborhood simply to view the light displays during this festive occasion. Decorating the home in the winter adds to the neighborhood display. People should not be concerned about how many lights wind up hanging from the home. A few lights and imagination can provide enough light to the overall decor and recreate the festive atmosphere.

There are a number of selections that people can choose to light up the house. Diode based LED Christmas lights are becoming a popular style replacing the older fashioned filament lights. LED lights offer many advantages. These lights are energy efficient and require only ten percent energy output of the filament style bulb. A family can choose to emphasize the indoor tree by framing the viewing area with a lighted display of larger crystal shaped bulbs.

One may add a group of lights hanging from the roof for a Christmas light display of ice cycles. This type of display has grown in popularity over the years and can be seen hanging from many homes today. People may opt for a single color such as blue or decide to hang a multitude of colorful ice cycles from the roof. Similar to a string of lighted ice cycles is a netted display that can easily be hung over any bush in front of the home.

Rope lights are now becoming a personal favorite for many families wanting to add some new excitement to a display of Christmas lights. The rope can be purchased in short lengths of twenty-five lights or long ropes for any lighting arrangement. Single color or multi-color ropes are available and can be used to lighten the way on the house or on the ground. Rope lights can fire individually providing the appearance of motion to the display.

LED lights provide a wonderful enhancement to the Christmas lights display. A little imagination with the variety selection can benefit the home appearance. Neighbors may envy the distinct display of color, shape and motion these lights can bring. LED Christmas lights are safe, energy efficient and fun to hang in the winter. Everyone should remember safety first when hanging the lights and enjoy the winter holiday.
